We are a management and IT consulting firm with offices and consulting staff in the Washington DC Metro area. Although our clients have been primarily federal agencies, we have also supported state and local governments and the private sector. Using  our proven multi-disciplined client focused methods, we tailor our service delivery to  meet each client’s unique needs. Today’s organizations require measured daily activities  which ultimately focus on achieving their strategic goals. USFS assists clients by providing the seamless integration of people, process, and technology while helping  leaders manage the daily transition to successfully achieve their long-term goals.

History

Our firm started as a conversation between two co-workers in 2009. While struggling with an inflexible methodology to provide a long  term solution to our client, we concluded that something was missing. 

Our engagement was too narrowly focused and lacked the flexibility to  meet the changing needs and long term objectives of our client. We knew we wanted to build something better.

From these beginnings we have built a firm that focuses on delivering effective, client-focused solutions that provide sustainable value. To achieve this balance, we approach each engagement as a unique challenge that requires original thinking, tailored solutions, and highly qualified  professionals with the experience and perspective to get the job done right. Our goal is to position our clients for success in the near term and for years after our departure.

Juan Sims

Juan Sims
President, CEO

Juan is an accomplished management  consultant with over 15 years of consulting  experience to include over 10 years of Federal/State/Local IT and non-ITconsulting and software  development experience across multiple projects. He is also a  decorated veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Sims has extensive experience in organizational  transformation efforts including large-scale business process  engineering and organizational change management. Mr. Sims  is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a certified Project  Management Professional (PMP).

Mr. Sims is veteran of U.S. Army and received his BS in Biology from Furman University.

 

Greg Cambareri

Executive Vice President

Greg is a highly qualified management  consultant  with over 20 years of proven experience supporting federal government  agencies and Fortune 500 companies.

Greg has extensive experience providing subject matter  expertise in strategy and business transformation, IT strategic  planning, and performance management. Mr. Cambareri is a  certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Greg received his MBA from Duke University, MS in Geophysics  from North Carolina State University, and BS in Physical  Sciences from Western Carolina University.

 

Dr. Andrew Uscher

Director of Operations, USFS

Andy is a former Air Force Officer and Senior Executive (ES-3) in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. After retirement, he worked for Deloitte, Language Line, and LMI.

Andy’ experience included helping establish the all-volunteer armed forces, changing the intelligence priorities within DIA, sponsoring the automated fingerprint identification system within the FBI, heading up the Critical Infrastructure Review, setting up DFAS within DoD, recommending the establishment of DHS, and writing the telework policy for DoD.

Andy has provided subject matter expertise in management analysis, human capital, budgeting, and national security affairs to DoD and the FBI.

Andy received his MBA from Wharton and his Doctorate in Public Administration and National Security Policy from George Washington University. He was a Professor of Public Administration and National Security Policy at George Washington University and George Mason University.

V. Nelson Smither III, PMP

Nelson Smither is a seasoned Sales and Delivery Executive with over 25 years of global business leadership experience. He has a strong history of client and corporate success, winning and delivering large complex programs. Nelson has consulted for numerous industry verticals to include Aerospace and Defense, Federal Civilian, State and Local Government, International agencies, and Commercial.  His areas of expertise include the Business of Government, Healthcare, Social Management Programs, Information Technology Services, Insurance, Finance, Entertainment, Real Estate Development, and Construction.

Nelson is a veteran of both the U.S. Navy Intelligence community and U.S. Army National Guard Special Operations.  He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of New York, Regents College and maintains active Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
